The Heat Is On

Trenice is 66 years old and lives alone, as her husband recently passed away. She called us last Friday saying her heat has been out for a week, causing her to develop a cold from the frigid temperatures in her home. While we don't repair furnaces, we understood Trenice was in a life-threatening scenario and ineligible for the programs that normally repair furnaces, so we made an exception. After multiple calls to different community partners, we got in touch with Steve at Johnstone Supply. Steve connected us to Dean, an HVAC specialist, who generously offered his time after work on Friday to look at Trenice's situation. When Dean arrived at Trenice's home at 8pm, the temperature inside was 35 DEGREES. He worked until 1am Saturday morning repairing her furnace and successfully restoring her heat.

Trenice would not have been able to survive much longer in those conditions, and we're thankful for the generous partners that help us save the lives of community members like Trenice.
