Our Mission

Transform communities by providing free, critical home repairs and comprehensive services to low-income veterans, seniors, and people with disabilities.

Revitalize Milwaukee is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose goal is to reduce social, economic, and environmental disparities by providing free home repairs throughout Milwaukee and Waukesha counties. We are the largest provider of home repairs to eligible homeowners in Southeast Wisconsin and the only one that provides them for free. While we directly impact individuals and families, we also improve economic stability by keeping long-term, existing homeowners in their homes. This stabilizes neighborhoods and the tax base paid to the city.

Over time, health and safety issues develop from the inability to pay for repairs and other necessary services. Without our free services, many Milwaukee residents would suffer serious injuries or even be forced to move out of the homes that they’ve lived in for over 30 years.

We employ 18+ City of Milwaukee licensed and insured minority contractors yearly, providing sustainable wages and helping the local economy.

We operate on an annual budget of over 12 million dollars. Each dollar received is leveraged approximately 4:1, creating a total reinvestment of 27.2 million back into the community. Over 97% of our funding comes from private sources (grants, corporations, and individuals).

The greater community

Revitalize Milwaukee is an organization that embraces the many cultures that comprise our community. We consider ourselves partners, dedicated to offering connections and opportunities for people who access our 13 programs and resources. In all we do, we seek to convey a core respect for the experience, knowledge, and capacity of every person. Many people accessing RM services have been historically marginalized, and continue to face discrimination, negative bias, and risk of personal harm. As we help build prosperity and social connections RM recognizes that there are serious historical and existing systems that create inequity for individuals, families, and entire communities. We believe changes need to be made in the conditions and assumptions that create injustice. We commit to changing systems and confronting obstacles to gain social justice for all.
