Leona's New Porch

Leona is 55 and has lived in her home for 21 years. She has lived through a lot, having to bury two of her three children. Three years ago, one of her sons was celebrating his 24th birthday in their front yard when a group of people began shooting at them. Tragically, her son was killed and Leona was hit four times in her feet, shattering her toes and severely injuring her feet. Two years later, another one of her son’s passed away in his sleep.

After being shot in the feet, the doctors didn’t think she would ever walk again. Thankfully, she recovered and is now able to walk. She says that living with a disability can be hard, but nowhere near as hard as losing two sons.

Her front porch was rotting and becoming a safety hazard for her and anyone that visited, so she reached out to us to see if we could help. We sent a contractor out to perform the repairs and Leona is now the proud owner of a beautiful new porch.
