Preventing Patrick's Fines
Patrick is 63 and has lived in his home for 10 years. He served in the U.S. Navy, and while on duty was T-boned by a drunk driver. He required several spinal surgeries from the accident, abruptly ending his Navy career at just 20 years old. The injuries from that accident still affect him to this day.
This past Monday, Patrick was issued a 24 hour notice by the City to clean the debris from his yard and driveway, but given his condition he knew there was no way he could do this. The City also told him they would not be picking up the debris so he must dispose of it on his own.
The City ended up giving Patrick until today, Friday, to clean up, which gave him time to call us for help. We went out and cleaned his yard and driveway, mowed, and weed whacked so there wasn’t a single twig left on the ground. Patrick told us he hasn’t been a witness to much generosity in his life so this made him tear up a bit. We’re happy to help out those who’ve served our country.
