Make Your Voice Heard

The City of Milwaukee will receive $394 million from the federal government to help our community recover from COVID-19 via the American Rescue Plan (ARP). With your help, a portion of the funds can be put towards free, critical home repairs for low-income homeowners in our community.

The City released a survey to collect information on how the public wants to see the funds used. This is a once in a generation opportunity and we don't want to miss it! Please take this quick survey and let local officials know that critical home repairs for low-income homeowners have been underfunded for far too long. Your input could ensure hundreds more homeowners receive the repairs they need to stay safe in their home.

In the section titled "What else would help the city be the best it can be?" you can write your own custom message, copy & paste the message below, or do a combination of the two.

Revitalize Milwaukee's goal is to forward the vision of a community where long-time homeowners are given the resources needed to ensure a safe and healthy place to live. They are an advocate for Milwaukee homeowners, many of whom have lived a lifetime of racial and economic disparities, unfair housing practices, and neighborhood segregation.

RM is the largest provider of free home repairs and the only one that provides them for free. Help for existing homeowners is often an overshadowed topic when it comes to housing because of prevailing housing issues like shelter for the homeless, affordable housing, etc. While these issues are important, there is a severe lack in resources for low-income homeowners that desperately need repairs in their home to remain safe and healthy.

Over the last 21 years, RM has helped over 6,500 people stay safe in their homes and there are hundreds more that need our help every year. We're often their only option to remain safe in the home they've lived in for 20+ years and hope to live in for another 20+ years.

I urge you to allocate a portion of the ARP funds for Revitalize Milwaukee's home repair programs. Their work is crucial to the success of our community and provides homeowners the safety they deserve.

Thank you for taking the time to advocate on behalf of our homeowners.
